First Place on the Line When No. 7 Drexel Visits Towson on Saturday

First place in the Colonial Athletic Association will be on the line on Saturday night when Drexel visits Towson. The Dragons, ranked seventh in the nation in the latest USILA Coaches' Poll, and the Tigers each enter the game with 2-0 league records with only three games to play. Face-off is set for 7:30 p.m. at Johnny Unitas Stadium.
Drexel has won nine of its last 10 games and has an overall record of 9-2. The Dragons feature a balanced scoring attack and one of the best defensive units in the nation. Five different Dragons have at least 12 goals. Freshman Robert Church leads the team with 26 goals, while Colin Ambler has scored 18 times. Ambler and Scott Perri each had 33 points to lead the club. Drexel's defense entered the week ranked fifth in the country, allowing just 7.82 goals per game. Mark Manos, Drexel's sophomore goalkeeper, is third in the nation in save percentage and fifth in goals against average.
The Tigers are 4-5 and have played arguably the toughest schedule in the nation. All five of the Tigers' losses have come to teams ranked in the top 20. Towson has won three in a row, including league wins against Delaware and at then No. 7 UMass. Will Harrington and Christian Pastirik each have 18 goals. Junior goalkeeper Travis Love was named the CAA's Player of the Week on Monday after earning wins against both UMBC and UMass.
