Dragons Fall to Bradley in Peoria, 76-60

Peoria, Ill. – Bradley went on a 7-0 run early in the second half to open up a 16-point lead and defeated Drexel, 76-60, in a non-conference game at Carver Arena. The Dragons had their chances and cut the lead to seven with 5:38 to play, but couldn't get any closer than that in the closing minutes as Bradley made its last 10 free throws to ice the game
Bradley (14-13) was led by Sam Maniscalco, who scored 20 points. He was one of three Braves in double figures in scoring. Andrew Warren added 18 points. Drexel (15-14) had big performances off the bench by Chris Fouch and Leon Spencer. Fouch, in his first action in three games after suffering a shoulder injury, led the team with 16 points. Spencer scored 13 points and had 10 rebounds.
Bradley took a 33-26 lead to intermission. The Dragons cut the lead down to two points, but the Braves scored the final four points of the half, including a reverse dunk by Chris Roberts with just two seconds left on the clock. Roberts scored a team-high nine points in the first half. The Braves shot 50 percent from the floor, while Drexel was just 9-for-29 from the field. Fouch was 4-for-5 from deep and led the Dragons with 12 first-half points.
Samme Givens led Drexel with 12 rebounds. It was the 11th time this season the sophomore has had at least 10 boards in a game.
Bradley shot 54 percent from the floor on the night and held the Dragons to only 21 field goals and 34 percent shooting. The Braves capitalized at the line as well, making 14 of 16 freebies in the second half and 16-for-20 in the game.
Drexel returns to conference play on Wednesday night at the DAC. The Dragons host UNC Wilmington on Senior Night. The game tips off at 7 p.m. and can be seen live on The Comcast Network.
