Philadelphia - Drexel women's basketball will treat fans to a pre-holiday matinee when the Dragons host the Bucknell Bison in a 1:00 p.m. contest today at the DAC. The Dragons (4-4) are looking to bounce back from a defeat to Princeton last week while the Bison (2-7) are back in action for the first time in two weeks.

Today the Dragons begin their final three-game sojourn before the start of conference play in January.  Drexel is looking to get back on track after falling to a red-hot Princeton Tigers team last Thursday. Kamile Nacickaite turned in one of the best performances of her young career at Drexel, scoring a career-high 19 points and knocking down four three-pointers. Gabriela Marginean is in line for a big bounce-back game after being held to 10 points and eight rebounds in 25 minutes due to foul trouble on Thursday.

Bucknell lost to Towson 59-48 in their last taste of competition before finals break, on Dec. 7. The Bison return three starters and eight letterwinners from a team that went 16-12 last year and finished third in the Patriot League. Bucknell features a balanced scoring attack led by sophomore guard Morgan Wrightson, who is averaging just over 13 points per game, and junior forward Joyce Novacek who averages 10 points and eight boards per contest.  The Bison's two wins this season have come against Fordham and Loyola (Md.).

Today's game is the 21st meeting between the former East Coast Conference foes. Drexel leads the all-time series 14-6 and won last year's contest 44-35 in Lewisburg, Pa. Gabriela Marginean scored 33 of the Dragons' 44 points and Drexel's defense held Bucknell to its lowest scoring total ever at the Sojka Pavilion.

Ticket's for today's 1:00 mid-day contest are $6 and free for children under 12 and students with a valid Drexel ID.  Fans can also listen to the action on WKDU 91.7 FM and www.drexeldragons.com with Pat Delsi and Anthony Antinore calling the action. Livestats are also available by clicking here.
