Elegar Signs to Play Professional Basketball in Germany

Philadelphia, Pa.—Drexel's Frank Elegar has signed a contract to play in Germany this upcoming season. Elegar will play in the Bundesliga, Germany's top professional basketball league, for Bremerhaven. The 6-foot-9 center was a two-time All-Colonial Athletic Association selection at Drexel and averaged 14.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game as a senior. He finished his career 15th on the Dragons' all-time scoring list with 1,285 and 15th in rebounding with 676.
Elegar will begin training camp with Bremerhaven this month. Last year's Bremerhaven team featured 2007 Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year, former Creighton star Nate Funk. The team lost in the 2008 Bundesliga playoffs to eventual champion Alba Berlin.
