Dragons Defeat Mason to Earn Eighth Conference Win

Philadelphia - Drexel defeated George Mason University, 24-9, in a Colonial Athletic Association dual match held at the Daskalakis Athletic Center. With the victory, the Dragons improved to 15-10 (8-2 CAA) while the Patriots fell to 9-8 (5-4 CAA).

Ryan Hluschak (Slatington, Pa./Northern Lehigh) opened the match with a win by fall over Robert Henry. Mason responded with a win at 165 pounds before Nick Kozar (Derry, Pa./Derry Area) earned a win by decision over Randy Oates at 174 pounds. Mason again rebounded by winning the 184-pound bout, but Jon Oplinger (Bath, Pa./Northampton) continued his hot streak. The reigning CAA Co-Wrestler of the Week earned a technical fall win over Harry Zander. The Dragons would win the next two matches to clinch the team victory.

Drexel's next match will be on Sunday, Feb. 11 as the Dragons travel to Bloomsburg for a non-conference dual meet. The first match will begin at 1:00 p.m.
