West Long Branch, N.J. –Drexel Women's Tennis defeated Monmouth, 7-0, on a cool and windy day on Monmouth's home courts. The match was the second for the women's tennis team this season as the Dragons evened their record at 1-1.

In doubles play, Emily Lewis (Lake Geneva, Wis./Big Foot) and Mellissa Lewis (Lake Geneva, Wis./Big Foot) earned a 8-1 victory over No. 1 doubles duo Sarah Ragan and Ashleigh Johnson though Monmouth took the No. 2 doubles match, 8-4. Jillian Toussaint (Palmerton, Pa./Palmerton Area) and Ashley Doriss (Fort Washington, Pa./Germantown Academy) clinched the doubles action for the Dragons as they defeated Laura Giuliari and Kristen Hoffmann, 8-6.

From there the Dragons cruised as no Monmouth player was able to win more than three games in any of the singles matches as Drexel moved to 1-1 on the season.
