Kris Doiron is considered one of Drexel’s most accomplished players ever to play on the baseball diamond at Drexel. At the plate, Doiron was the all-time leader in career batting average at .370, hits in a season (85) and at-bats. He led the team in runs batted in all four years and is second all time in runs, hits and runs batted in. He was the toughest in the nation to strike out in both 1995 and 1996.
On the mound, Doiron posted career numbers of 247 innings pitched, 26 wins and 3.21 earned-run average. He was second all time with 202 strikeouts. Doiron holds single-season records with a 2.16 ERA, nine complete games and two shutouts. In each of his four years he led the Dragons in strikeouts.
Doiron was named First Team All-Conference three times and was a Second Team pick as a freshman. In 1995, he was named the NAC AEC All-Tournament MVP. He is the only baseball player to have his number retired.
