Newport News, Va. –Drexel women's tennis dropped a 4-1 decision to Towson in the opening round of the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament held at Huntington Park. The loss ended the Dragons' 2006-07 season as the women's team finished with a 7-8 record overall.

Gabriela Marginean (Cluj-Napoca, Romania/Mt. de Chantal Academy) earned Drexel's lone point as she disposed of the Tigers' No. 1 singles player, Eva Otanke, 6-0, 6-0. At No. 2 and No. 3 singles, Emily and Mellissa Lewis (Lake Geneva, Wis./Big Foot) lost in straight sets, respectively. At No. 4 singles, Towson's Kelly Parsons defeated Jaimee Wylie (Sewell, N.J./Washington Township), 6-2, 6-0 as the ninth-seeded Tigers dropped the eighth-seeded Dragons.

The Dragons will return everyone but senior Jillian Toussaint (Palmerton, Pa./Palmerton Area) for the 2007-08 season.
