About Club Sports
The Club Sports program at Drexel University aims to develop the personal and athletic interests of its students by providing quality recreation, education, and leadership experiences. The program currently has 33 active clubs under the direction of the Club Sports Council and the Recreational Sports Office.  All of the programs that are offered are designed to serve the interests of Drexel students through various sports and recreational activities that may be competitive, recreational, and/or instructional in nature.

Club Sports are created by the students, and for the students. The Recreational Sports Office (RSO) works in conjunction with the Office of Campus Activities (OCA) to provide official University student organization recognition to Drexel club sports. The RSO serves as the Club Sports Program administrator and is responsible for the development and implementation of the policies of the program. The Club Sports Council (CSC) is made up of current club officers and members. They elect an Executive Board (made up of CSC representatives) the help represent teams and serve to govern and lead the Club Sports program of Drexel University as a whole.

All Club Sports are open to any Drexel students. Many Drexel Clubs compete at Regional and National levels depending on their league requirements or affiliations. The involvement and commitment of students are based upon the individual club’s structure. New clubs are formed each year, and we encourage all students to get involved.

CLUB SPORTS FAQ’S –

What is the difference between a Club Sport and Intramural Sports?

Intramural Sports offers recreational activities for Drexel students to compete in leagues and tournaments against other teams of Drexel students with no required practices, and a lower level of commitment. Club Sports offer opportunities for Drexel Students to practice their specific sport 2-3 times per week, and many times they compete against surrounding schools within their designated league or at weekend tournaments.

How do I get involved in a Club Sport?

Contact the club(s) you are interested in to find out details such as when team meetings or practices are held. It is up to the individual club to determine how and when new members are able to join. Also, club teams will advertise when they are looking for new members so check the Club Sport webpage, flyers posted around campus, or visit the Recreational Sports Office for information. If you have a problem contacting a specific club, e-mail the Club Sports Coordinator, Sarah Shouvlin at srs92@drexel.edu.

How do I start a new Club Sport?

If you are interested in starting a new Club Sport, you will need to contact the Club Sports Coordinator, Sarah Shouvlin at srs92@drexel.edu, and you will be guided informed of the steps to creating a new Club Sport.
