CLEAR Athletes of the Week: Ouabdelmoumen and Mershon

Philadelphia – Badr Ouabdelmoumen (Rabat, Morocco) of men's tennis and Hollie Mershon (Malvern, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) of women's basketball have been named CLEAR Athletes of the Week from Monday, February 11 through February 17 by Drexel Athletics.
Sophomore Badr Ouabdelmoumen along with doubles teammate Skyler Davis defeated Morgan State, 8-4, on Sunday afternoon at the Drexel Armory. Ouabdelmoumen and Davis picked up their third consecutive win in the No. 1 spot for doubles. During singles competition, Oubdelmoumen used his speed and endurance to win straight sets, 6-0, 6-1. He now has three doubles and two single victories on the season.
Senior guard Hollie Mershon posted 19 points in each of the Dragons' two CAA victories this past week. Mershon was the game-high scorer in both contests, and the only Dragon to reach double figures in their 62-48 win at Towson. She dished out 12 assists over the two games and now sits just two assists shy of becoming the ninth player in Drexel women's basketball history to record 300 assists in her career. The Malvern, Pa. native continues to lead the CAA with 18.9 points per game, and, also pulled down her 500th career rebound on Sunday against Old Dominion, currently leaving her with 505.
Men's tennis (3-1) will visit Temple on Friday, February 15. On Saturday, both the men's and women's tennis teams will host Saint Francis (Pa.) at the Drexel Armory. Both matches will begin at 11:00 a.m. Women's basketball (16-6; 9-2) will return to action on Thursday at Hofstra. Tip off is set for noon.
