The Drexel men's lacrosse team will look to get back in the win column on Sunday at Lafayette. The Dragons, ranked 11th in the latest USILA Poll, are 6-2 after losing at Villanova on Wednesday. They face a tough test as the eighth-ranked Leopards are a perfect 6-0 thus far in 2010.
Drexel fell behind by five goals before rallying and coming up just short at Villanova, 10-8. Colin Ambler had four goals and five points to lead the way. Mark Manos entered the week second in the nation in both goals against average and save percentage. After Wednesday's game, his GAA is 6.89 and he has stopped 63 percent of the shots he has faced.
Lafayette has scored 12 or more goals in all six of its games thus far. The Leopards have scored 15 or more on four occasions and in three straight games. They defeated Bucknell on the road last weekend, 16-15. Their most impressive win was a 15-8 decision against Navy. Tom Perini already has 22 goals and 28 points. He is one of six players who has scored at least eight goals in 2010.
Sunday's game, which begins at 1:00, will be the Dragons final non-conference game of the season. Drexel's CAA schedule begins on Saturday, March 3, when Hofstra visits Vidas Field. The Pride is ranked sixth in the nation.
