Lawson Named to Preseason All-CAA Women's Lacrosse Team

Philadelphia - Drexel senior Katie Lawson was selected to the 2010 Preseason All-Colonial Athletic Association Women's Lacrosse Team. Lawson, an attacker led the Dragons with 39 goals and 44 points last season. The 2010 Preseason All-CAA Women's Lacrosse Team was selected by vote of the league's coaches.

Lawson's big junior season netted her Second Team All-CAA honors as well as Second Team All-Region accolades. Lawson ranked among the leaders in the CAA in goals scored in conference play. The junior racked up 22 goals in seven league games, including six at William & Mary and five at Hofstra. She recorded a goal in all but one game in 2009 and totaled a team-high three game-winning goals. Lawson has 63 goals through three seasons at Drexel. 

The Dragons open the 2010 season on Feb. 13 as Drexel travels to Blacksburg, Va. to face Virginia Tech.

Women's Soccer

Ashley Klun scored the game-winning goal for Drexel in a 1-0 win over UMBC in the women's soccer season opener at Vidas Field. Klun netted her first strike of the season with less than seven minutes left in the contest.
