Philadelphia - Junior attackman Colin Ambler has been honored for the second time in as many years as a member of the Philadelphia Inquirer's Academic All-Area men's lacrosse team. Ambler, who was also a First Team All-CAA selection this year, carries a 3.60 grade-point average in business administration. He is one of seven Dragons that were honored this spring as members of Inquirer Academic All-Area Teams.

A three-year starter for the Dragons, Ambler was the quarterback and offensive leader of the team which qualified for the CAA Tournament for the third straight year. Ambler led the Dragons with 21 goals, 16 assists and 37 points on the season. A three-time All-CAA selection during his career, Ambler has scored at least 20 goals in all three seasons at Drexel and currently ranks 12th all-time in assists and 20th in career scoring with one more year remaining at Drexel.

Ambler was also honored by the Inquirer as an All-Area Team member last season, as well as earning the 2007 CAA Men’s Lacrosse Scholar Athlete of the Year Award.

The Inquirer and the Philadelphia Sports Information Directors Association have honored the top student-athletes in the area with these awards each year since the fall of 2005. The Dragons have been well represented among the Academic All-Area teams each season. In addition to Ambler, Drexel's other honorees this season were Ashley Botelho (softball), Anthony Fittipaldi and Jacob Sloan (men's crew), Katherine LaBarbera (women's crew), Anahita Jagtiani (women's tennis) and Kimberly Kabernagel (women's lacrosse).
