Drexel women's lacrosse players Katie Lawson and Charlotte Wood were selected to Colonial Athletic Association All-Conference Teams. Lawson, a midfielder, was a Second Team All-CAA pick while Wood, an attacker, was chosen for the conference's All-Rookie Team. The pair combined for 72 goals and 12 assists in 2009.
Lawson ranked among the leaders in the CAA in goals scored in conference play. The junior racked up 22 goals in seven league games, including six at William & Mary and five at Hofstra. She recorded a goal in all but one game this season and totaled a team-high three game-winning goals.
Wood was a two-time CAA Rookie of the Week in her first season on the field after redshirting in 2008. She totaled a career high seven points on six goals and an assist in the Dragons' win over La Salle and also racked up five goals in the team's triumph over Bucknell. Her 33 goals this season the most by a Drexel first-year player since Emily Hoesch scored 37 in 2004.
