Williamsburg, Va. - The Drexel women's lacrosse team will face a tough road test at William & Mary on Friday, April 18 at 7:00 p.m. The Dragons will be looking to pick up their first Colonial Athletic Association triumph of the season against the Tribe. Drexel enters the game with a 7-6 overall record and 0-4 mark in the CAA while the Tribe are 8-6 overall and 3-1 in the CAA.
Drexel is led on offense by redshirt freshman Charlotte Wood. In her first season on the field, Wood has totaled team-highs of 27 goals and 32 points. Juniors Katie Lawson and Becca Drylie-Perkins have also been key contributors with 25 and 23 goals, respectively this season. Senior goalie Lauren LaBella is among the conference's leaders with an 8.90 goals against average.
William & Mary has been close to pulling off major upsets all season long. The Tribe lost to No. 10 Boston University in double overtime, No. 4 Virginia in overtime, and No. 15 Penn State by two goals. They avenged their close losses with a pair of conference overtime wins last weekend as the Tribe upended No. 20 James Madison, 14-13, and George Mason, 17-16.
