Drexel Mourns the Loss of Student-Athlete Max Brindle

Philadelphia -- The Drexel Athletics Department is in mourning after the loss of one of its student-athletes. Max Brindle, a member of the Drexel men's lacrosse team, passed away on June 18, 2008 in a bicycle accident. Max recently completed his first season at Drexel and was enrolled in the LeBow College of Business. The Drexel Athletics Department sends its condolences and prayers to Max's family at this difficult time.

A life celebration for Max Brindle will be held on July 4at the Willows at 10:00 a.m., which is located at 490 Darby-Paoli Road in Villanova, Pa. Memorial donations may be made to Camp Pasquaney Scholarship Fund, 19 Pasquaney Lane, Hebron, NH  03241.

Drexel University has numerous on-campus resources available to assist its students during these difficult times. The counseling center is located in Creese Student Center and the phone number is 215-895-1415. There are also spiritual and religious centers that may be of assistance. Ashley Klun
Women's Soccer

Ashley Klun scored the game-winning goal for Drexel in a 1-0 win over UMBC in the women's soccer season opener at Vidas Field. Klun netted her first strike of the season with less than seven minutes left in the contest.
