Kelly Named Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Women's Lacrosse Performer of the Year

Philadelphia - Drexel senior Kerry Kelly was named Women's Lacrosse Academic Performer of the Year by the Philadelphia Inquirer for the 2007 season. Kelly, a midfielder, broke the school record for points (76) and assists (33) as she led the Dragons to a 12-5 record. Kelly also excels in the classroom where she carries a 3.48 grade point average as a business administration major.
Kelly was named First Team All-CAA for her outstanding 2007 season in which she led the Colonial Athletic Association in points per game and assists per game. She holds the Drexel record for assists in a season and in a career and tied the Dragons' single-game assist mark with five in her final game in a Drexel uniform.
Kelly is the fourth Drexel student-athlete who has been named Philadelphia Inquirer Academic Performer of the Year in the 2006-07 academic year. Karie Walton (Field Hockey), Kate Hynes (Women's Swimming and Diving) and Tim Bohinsky (Men's Rowing) were all honored in their respective sports as Academic Performers of the Year by the Philadelphia Inquirer in the 2006-07 season.
